FLORIDA – Today, Out of the Swamp PAC is out with its newest ad, first covered in Florida Playbook, hitting unelected Senator Ashley Moody for cheerleading Trump’s erratic war in Iran.  

The human and economic costs of Trump’s erratic and misguided war in Iran are hitting Floridians directly. Tragically, a servicemember from Central Florida is one of the American soldiers who were killed. 

Meanwhile, the chaos unleashed in the region is causing prices to skyrocket even more than they already were for Florida families. Florida now ranks among the five states with the highest gas prices in the country. The average price of gas in Florida has jumped to roughly $3.69 statewide and continues to rise.

“Another war in the Middle East. Among the dead? A Florida soldier. Billions spent overseas, kids killed,” the ad states. “Ashley Moody voted for all of it and she’s cheering it on, but here in Florida, gas is up, groceries up, and when Trump calls, Ashley Moody falls in line, every time.”

Out of the Swamp PAC was the first entity to spot Moody’s vulnerability last year and launch digital ads against her, softening the ground for a serious challenge against her. 

This latest ad builds on the PAC’s sustained digital campaign to hold Moody accountable and ensure voters understand the stakes of her time in office. Out of the Swamp PAC will continue scaling its efforts throughout 2026 as Democrats organize to compete aggressively in Florida, a state they cannot afford to surrender.

“Florida families are paying the price for Trump’s war, which Ashley Moody has cheerleaded,” said Out of the Swamp PAC Executive Director Gabrielle Adekunle. “When service members from our communities are killed overseas, we need a senator who will ask hard questions, demand a clear strategy, and put Florida first. Instead, Ashley Moody puts her political loyalty above her duties to Floridians.”
