January 22, 2026 — Out of the Swamp PAC welcomes Angie Nixon to the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate in Florida. Nixon’s entry into the race strengthens Democrats’ chance to flip a seat long dominated by Republicans, at a time when millions are struggling with affordability crises, health care costs, and rising living expenses.

“Ashley Moody was appointed to be a puppet for Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis— and she is actively making Floridians' lives harder,” said Out of the Swamp PAC Executive Director Gabrielle Adekunle. “Angie Nixon is a proven fighter and her entry shows that Democrats are hungry to compete in Florida and have a real shot at this race. Democrats can’t afford to keep ceding Florida. We need to fight everywhere.”

Moody’s vulnerability is clear: she was appointed rather than elected, she has repeatedly voted to raise costs and gut funding that Floridians rely on. Her weakness opens the door for a competitive race and a chance for Democrats to make Florida competitive again.

Nixon joins former Brevard County School Board member Jennifer Jenkins in the Democratic field to take on Moody.

Out of the Swamp PAC has already begun laying the groundwork for this race to become competitive. The PAC has launched digital ads highlighting Moody’s record of putting partisan politics and corporate interests over Floridians’ needs.
