Out of the Swamp PAC Launches First Five-Figure Ad Buy Highlighting Ashley Moody’s Failure to Protect Floridians During Hurricane Season

November 19, 2025 — As hurricane season peaks and Floridians face the highest insurance rates in America, a new political action committee, Out of the Swamp PAC launched its first ad of the cycle targeting Ron DeSantis’s handpicked appointed Senator Ashley Moody. The ad slams Moody for letting Floridians drown while cutting disaster relief and gutting the programs that Floridians depend on.
“It’s hurricane season, and Floridians are drowning in the highest insurance rates in America. While our families struggle, Ashley Moody sided with Trump and the GOP to defund FEMA, the National Weather Service, and disaster aid,” the ad warns. “She works for them, not for us.”
Rather than demanding more funding and faster aid, Moody instead sued FEMA for “discriminating against Trump supporters” – as laughable as it is baseless.
“Ashley Moody has watched Florida’s insurance market collapse and our hurricane risks surge, and she’s done nothing but play partisan games while families pay the price,” said Out of the Swamp PAC’s executive director Gabrielle Adekunle. “Floridians deserve leaders who will fight for their homes and their future, not politicians who treat public safety like a political favor for billionaires and Trump.”
The new ad comes as Florida continues to suffer from rising insurance premiums and growing climate threats. Florida homeowners now pay an average of $6,000 per year for home insurance while 1.7 million Florida families rely on the National Flood Insurance Program to recover after disasters. Yet that program, along with FEMA, faces massive threats from Republican leadership in Washington.
Launched earlier this year to give Floridians a better choice, Out of the Swamp PAC views Moody as a uniquely vulnerable target as she prepares to face voters for the first time as a Senator.
